Join us at the Baltimore County Public Library’s North Point branch to hear Arthur Holland Michel discuss his new book Eyes in the Sky.

Eyes in the Sky is the fascinating history and unnerving future of high-tech aerial surveillance, from its secret military origins to its growing use on American citizens. Eyes is the authoritative account of how the Pentagon secretly developed a godlike surveillance system for monitoring America's enemies overseas, and how it is now being used to watch us in our own backyards. From tracking vehicles responsible for depositing IEDs in Afghanistan to preventing crime on the streets of Baltimore, author Arthur Holland Michel examines the benefits and perils of cameras that watch us all.

Arthur Holland Michel is a Peruvian-born writer and researcher. He has written about drones, surveillance, artificial intelligence, robots, the arts, immigration, and movies for Wired, Vice, The Verge, Fast Company, Motherboard, Al Jazeera America, U.S. News, Bookforum, Mashable Spotlight, and an Oxford Research Encyclopedia, among other outlets.  Arthur is the founder and co-director of the Center for the Study of the Drone, a research institute at Bard College in New York State.
