The Ivy is glad to present virtual versions of our planned book launches this spring and summer! Join us on Zoom on Wednesday, June 22 at 6:30 PM to launch Ed Doyle-Gillespie's newest collection, Aerial Act: Poems of a Decidedly Different Nature. In addition to the reading this event will also feature music by Baltimore singer/songwriter/musical alchemist ellen cherry.
About Ed and Ellen:
Edward Doyle-Gillespie is a long-time Hampden resident. Holding a degree in History from George Washington University, and an MLA from Johns Hopkins University, he spent ten years in academia before becoming a police officer. He is the author of four books of poetry – Masala Tea and Oranges, On the Later Addition of Sancho Panza, and Socorro Prophesy.
ellen cherry (lowercase letters intentional!) is an award winning song and story alchemist, musician and performer, based in Baltimore, MD. Mixing equal parts of pathos and humor throughout her songs, her singular voice and her banter gives audiences a peek into a whimsical, curious mind. After a devastating car wreck caused by an intoxicated driver in 2013, cherry was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and has spent the last five years fostering recovery and resilience, her own and others, through performance, music, and storytelling. More information about ellen can be found at www.ellencherry.com.
