Percival Everett: Two Events at Goucher College

Each year during the Fall semester, the Kratz Center for Creative Writing welcomes a distinguished Visiting Author to Goucher College who is nationally or internationally renowned for their writing. The author reads from their work, signs books, conducts master classes, and meets with students and community members. This year's guest is the renowned Percival Everett.

Everett will offer two events on October 4, both of which are free and open to the public: a 3PM craft discussion and an 8PM reading and book signing.

The 3PM event will take place in the Soper Room, in the Julia Rogers building at Goucher College. The 8PM event will take place in the Hyman Forum, in the Ungar Athenaeum building at Goucher College.

Percival Everett is the author of more than thirty novels and story collections, including The Trees, TelephoneSo Much BluePercival Everett by Virgil Russell, I Am Not Sidney Poitier and Erasure. Everett has won the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Book Critics Circle, the Dos Passos Prize, the PEN Center USA Award for Fiction, the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award, the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for Fiction, The 2010 Believer Book Award, the Premio Gregor von Rezzori, a Creative Capital Award, BS the Academy Award in Literature from The American Academy of Arts and Letters. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. Everett is currently Distinguished Professor of English at University of Southern California. He lives in Los Angeles.
