Readings with Ralphie: Tom DiVenti and Roxie Powell

Rafael Alvarez will be joined by writer and editor Tom DiVenti and poet Roxie Powell.

Tom DiVenti was born and bred in Baltimore. Don't hold it against him. Editor of Apathy Press Poets, founding member of DA MORONICS, Baltimore’s first punk band circa 1976. On certain strange days he is a sorry entertainer clown named Skelly Skullton. The rest of the time he writes a weekly column in a parallel universe for Splice Today digimag. Every other day for the past 30 years he is T. T. Tucker a traveling troubadour known to associate in shady bars with The Bum Rush Band. In an alternate reality he is a poet.  

Roxie Powell was born in western Kansas during the Dust Bowl.  He grew up in the high Sangre de Christo Mountains of Southern Colorado.  After a stint in the Merchant Marine and many work experiences, scattered about the world, he earned his MA at Johns Hopkins University and eventually taught at Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland.  Auerhahn Press of San Francisco, first published his poetry in 1963.
