“The Evolution of a Garden – A Dance to the Music of Time” is a 30-minute multimedia lecture about the creation, design and development of the Newhall gardens. Brightside Gardens: A Dialogue Between the Head and the Heart is a brilliant collection of over 250 breathtaking images, which along with the narrative interpretation of each garden, helps to elevate our understanding of human nature.
The form and shape of Brightside Gardens began as a reflection of the colors and patterns of the Newhall home. Over more than three decades of meticulous planning, the classical and neoclassical references are reflected across the Newhall’s property in the vibrant colors and textures of the plants, trees, stonework and statuary. From the symmetry of Undine’s Garden to the majestic view from Brant’s Ballustrade, every one of the 54 gardens of Amy and Charles Newhall tells a unique and poignant story. A feast for the eye. A dialogue between the head and the heart.
