Eternal Life takes the reader on a journey through 2,000 years of Jewish history as Rachel, who makes a spiritual bargain to live forever in order to save the life of her son, outlives her husbands and children for centuries. The story explores "what if" questions about eternal life and eternal love that make us think about human mortality and immortality.
With a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University, where she was Visiting Professor of Jewish Studies, Horn draws from her extensive knowledge of and deep appreciation for Jewish history, literature, Hebrew and Yiddish in her works. Horn has also taught Jewish literature and Israeli history at Sarah Lawrence College and City University of New York.
