The Weekly Reader Book Club: Angie Kim

At WYPR, we love books. That’s why we created The Weekly Reader book club in partnership with our friends at the Ivy Bookshop. If you’re a public radio person with a passion for prose, join us for this monthly face-to- face book club experience with fellow WYPR listeners, just like you!

The next club meeting will be on Thursday, July 11 at 7 PM at Bird in Hand. The book of the month is Miracle Creek, by Angie Kim - and the author plans to join us for the discussion! This is a private event for WYPR members only, as a perk of your membership. You must register in advance.Did you know WYPR’s radio program The Weekly Reader is now a book club too?!

Here’s how it works:

  • The book club will meet on the second Thursday of each month with hosts Emma Snyder and Lisa Morgan, with resident critic Marion Winik, and a handful of guest authors throughout the year!
  • Book selections and discussion topics will be in partnership with WYPR's The Weekly Reader radio show and podcast. You can catch The Weekly Reader Wednesdays at 2:33 PM.
  • This is a private event for WYPR members only, as a perk of your membership. An active member is anyone who has made a gift to the station, in any amount, in the last 12 months or has a current sustaining membership with regular payments. You can become a WYPR member here.
  • Marion’s picks are available for purchase at The Ivy Bookshop & Bird in Hand. Mention the book club at checkout and receive a 10% discount on book club titles purchased.
  • Limit two tickets per membership. Light refreshments will be provided.
