For Educators

The Ivy Bookshop’s Educator Service is a program for teachers, school administrators and school librarians. The Ivy Bookshop’s dedicated support team works personally with partnering schools to select and order books at attractive discounts, and to ensure prompt and accurate fulfillment of all orders. We provide a single source for book purchases across major publishers and university and specialty presses.

The program offers the following benefits:

  • Order and buy books in quantity at a substantial discount.
  • Have orders delivered directly to the school or designated site.
  • Receive advance notice about possible author event opportunities.

A new component of our Ivy Educator Service program is the online School Book Fair. We are currently working with Gilman School and St. James Academy to provide an online platform that promotes summer reading and raises funds for the schools' library programming. The Ivy donates a portion of every school book fair sale to the school partner. Visit the Gilman Virtual Book Fair website here.

Our outreach staff assists with scheduling Author Visits to your school and handling the corresponding book purchases for your students. Our publisher relationships often allow us to bring authors with new books to schools at little or no cost.

The Ivy has a long history of supporting teachers, administrators, students and parents in Baltimore schools. We participate in literacy outreach programs, including the PEN/Faulkner Foundation’s Writers in Schools program. In 2015, we received a grant from author James Patterson to expand our literacy outreach programs, which allowed us to bring awardwinning children’s authors together with public school students in our community.

To explore how we can help further your programming objectives, please call Martha Marani at 410-377-2966. You can also reach us at info@theivybookshop.com.
