Contemporary Suspense and Hardboiled Fiction: A Panel with Chris Chambers and KT Nguyen, moderated by Sujata Massey

Event Details

Bird in Hand Coffee & Books
11 East 33rd Street, Baltimore, MD 21218
Thursday, August 7th, 2025
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us at Bird in Hand for a panel conversation with 3 of today’s most exciting mystery writers– Chris Chambers, KT Nguyen, and Sujata Massey– who will weave the questions of the Contemporary Suspense genre in with the questions of their books.

In Christopher Chambers’ latest detective mystery, underground detective Dickie Cornish faces a vindictive murder rap from his past if he doesn’t agree to help prove that the fentanyl ravaging the streets of DC is bankrolled by shadowy donors of a certain former president.

In KT Nguyen’s heart-pounding debut thriller, a first-generation Vietnamese American artist must confront nightmares past and present as she is investigated for the disappearance of a prominent art patron, and her carefully curated life begins to unravel.

Sujata Massey’s Perveen Mistry series features Bombay’s only female solicitor as she reckons with the racism and sexism of her time.

There’s much to discuss, and we hope you’ll be a part of it! Come have a drink and an evening out while finding your next page-turner.
