Celebrating the poignant, hilarious summer novel DAD CAMP with Evan S. Porter in conversation with Matthew Norman! DAD CAMP follows a loving dad who drags his eleven-year-old daughter to “father-daughter week” at a remote summer camp, their last chance to bond before he loses her to teenage girlhood entirely.
It’s about family, fighting toxic masculinity, and reaching for the things and people we love the most– all with plenty of good humor and summery feelings. We’re glad that Matthew Norman, author of the beloved Charm City Rocks, and many other humorous, heartwarming novels, will join Evan Porter in conversation.

Evan Porter, Evan Porter is a dad to two girls (8 and 3), a blogger, and a freelance writer. He runs the parenting blog Dad Fixes Everything and has contributed to Parents Magazine, The Onion News Network, AskMen, The Good Men Project, Upworthy, and more. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, two girls, two dogs, and not much in the way of elbow room. Dad Camp is his first novel.

Matthew Norman, Matthew Norman was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His debut novel, Domestic Violets, was nominated in the Best Humor category at the 2011 Goodreads Choice Awards. Since then, he’s written four other novels. We’re All Damaged was an Amazon bestseller, Last Couple Standing was named one of the best books of 2020 so far by Esquire, All Together Now was one of the New York Post’s best books of the summer in 2021, and Charm City Rocks. His essays about writing have appeared on the sites Literary Hub and Writer Unboxed. He lives with his wife, two kids, and two dogs in Baltimore, Maryland and, occasionally, Fenwick Island, Delaware.
